Grove Immersion Pathway: A Physiological Approach to Cultural Healing and Whole-being

Grove Immersion Pathway mends the foundational physiological processes essential for individual and cultural wellbeing.

This program addresses the subtle miscommunication of data received by our bodies and deepens our capacity for presence/connection to self and others through practices that foster sensory attention, articulation, and awareness. Because of the real life immersion structure, this healing pathway is relevant, practical, and action based for sustained behavior change.

Participants will practice how to:

Soothe damaged pathways in the body, mind, spirit of themselves and others

- assess and address current states of being, identify what is needed for parasympathetic activation( rest and digest/stay and play)

Heal connections to self, others, nature, and the divine through personalized and relevant practices

- craft practices that meet their needs and cultivate intimacy

Inspire others through their own nervous system, with the ability to work in reciprocity with their environment

-develop skills for non-verbal communication and the capacity to process environmental stressors.

Nourish and identify innate strengths the for collective growth

-Emphasize development of strengths over removal of weaknesses, give energy to what we want to see grow

Elevate cultural systems for collective wellbeing

-Implement individual changes of behavior and ways of being to change the cultural narrative towards a culture of well-being

  • Grove

Grove, a group of trees growing together.

You know when you enter their sacred space. They create that space together, through interdependence and reciprocity. Their nervous systems are individual and collective.

  • Physiological Approach

Physiology: the branch of biology regarding the normal functioning of an organism and it’s parts.

The normal functioning of our bodies and our bodies together is something fleeting and often unknown to most of us. We have become accustomed to living with stressed bodies.

We need to practice new ways of being, alone and together. We need to become comfortable with the world we want to live in. We want a world of stability, peace, cooperation, reciprocity- however, our bodies are NOT ready for that. Our spirits are not ready. We need to practice and we need to practice together. We cannot mend alone, our cultural healing and individual whole-being are linked.

When we understand how our individual bodies work physiologically within our collective body, we can better support ourselves and each other.

  • Body

Our bodies are a conduit between our internal and external environments. Our senses are constantly processing data. We receive data from the foods we eat, from the air we breathe, from other peoples bodies, and from Nature. Most of us have experiences which taught us to disregard the sensory experience of the body. In order to experience empathy and compassion for ourselves and others, and to develop greater clarity and awareness, we need to give these sensory pathways our devoted attention.

  • Mind

Information from our senses travels to our brain and our mind articulates (clarifies) these sensations into feelings, stories, and states. We can foster greater clarity when we attend to our nervous systems, provide plenty of opportunity for parasympathetic activation, and honor the information our bodies share with us.

  • Spirit

When we give attention to sensory data, and articulate that data with our minds, our spirits develop greater comfort and awareness. This state of presence allows us to enjoy pleasant experiences more fully and engage in conflict with an open heart. The more we can cultivate a healing presence in our own lives, the greater opportunity we have to cultivate a healing presence collectively.

  • Culture

Culture is supposed to provide a framework for wellbeing; a life-guide that doesn’t require constant laborious evaluation while simultaneously connecting all individual members in the collective spirit.

Our current dominant culture leads us away from wellbeing and a connection to collective spirit through severing us from ourselves, each other, Nature, and divinity. When we feel alone and isolated, our sympathetic nervous system is activated because humans are designed for collective care.

Our bodies, minds, and spirits need support in finding our way back to wholeness because it has become so unfamiliar to us. When we do this work together, we can both support each other and design new cultural pathways to wellbeing.
